The journal is both multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary in approach. It includes original reports, critical reviews of educational theory and policy, discussions and commentaries on conceptual and methodological issues in educational research, reports on research in progress, and book reviews. The NZJES may occasionally publish Special Issues, depending upon current needs, emerging trends, and readership interests.
