THE 2010 NZARE Conference

The NZARE annual conference 2010 will be held at the University of Auckland, December 6-10. Further details will be posted here as venue and dates are confirmed.

Submission of papers usually close 1 July through the conference website.

Conference locations normally follow the following pattern: Palmerston North, Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin, Hamilton, Christchurch.

FORTHCOMING INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES

Each year the following international research organisation allocate a session at their annual meetings/conferences to a presentation supported by the NZARE: The American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE), and the British Educational Research Association (BERA).

PAST NZARE CONFERENCES

The NZARE Conference for 2009 was held at the Distinction Hotel, Rotorua, Tuesday 1 Dec - Friday 4 Dec. The theme was: "This is our research, this is why it matters and this is what should happen next: NZ educational research in 2009."

Keynote addresses by Prof Peter McLaren, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Assoc Prof Graeme Aitken, The University of Auckland. Herbison lecture by Cathy Wylie.

The 2008 National Conference was held at Massey University College of Education, Palmerston North, Monday 24 - Thursday 27 November 2008.

The 2007 NZARE Conference was held in Christchurch with the theme, "Education in the Pacific," 4 - 7 December 2007.

The 2006 National Conference had the theme, "Manaakitanga: Feel the Spirit", and was held at the Grand Tiara Hotel, Rotorua from 5 - 8 December.

In 2005, the NZARE National Conference had the theme, "The Learning Profession", and was held at University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, on 6 - 9 December.

The 2004 NZARE National Conference had the theme, "Turning the Kaleidoscope", and was held at the Westpac Stadium, Wellington, New Zealand on 24 - 26 November.

The 2003 joint NZARE/AARE conference was themed, "Educational Research, Risks, & Dilemmas", and was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and University of Auckland, 29 November - 3 December.
